Personal and expert review of your collection

Do you want to know what your coins, tokens or paper money are worth? At Schulman, we value collections with care and precision, whether it's one special piece or an extensive legacy. We will guide you step by step — from the first contact to clear advice on next steps such as insurance or sales through our auctions.

Make an appointment

The first step is easy: contact us by phone or email to make an appointment. In consultation, we will determine what best suits your situation. You are welcome to visit our office in the Museum Quarter in Amsterdam, but in consultation, we can also estimate on location — for example at your home or office. If necessary, it is also possible to offer your objects by registered and insured mail, always in good consultation, of course

In-depth review of your pieces

During the appointment, one of our experienced experts will carefully review your coins, tokens or banknotes. Each object is assessed for authenticity, quality, rarity, material (such as gold or silver), and current market demand. Our knowledge is based on over 140 years of experience in numismatics and is constantly updated with current information from the national and international coin auctions where we are active.

Sales after valuation

After the valuation, do you decide to sell (part of) your collection? Then we will supervise the entire process. We will officially receive, describe and photograph your documents for inclusion in our auction catalogue and promote our clientele of collectors, investors and enthusiasts. After the auction, we take care of the processing and payment. Want to know more about the sales process? Then check out our page: Auction sales.

FAQs

How do I sell my collection?
At Schulman, we offer various solutions to sell your collection. In addition to sales through our auctions, we can also offer direct sales. We then make an offer based on current market prices and pay immediately.
Why do I need to register a credit card when I sign up for online bidding?
Safety and fair auctions are the top priority at Schulman. That's why we require credit card authentication upon registration to participate in live bids. This prevents identity fraud and so-called “ghost bids”. The credit card you register does not have to be used for payment, it can be made by invoice.
Does Schulman also sell banknotes?
Yes, of course. Every year, we organize at least one auction that is entirely dedicated to banknotes.
Why do you ask for a credit card when you register for online bidding?
To ensure the reliability of our auctions, we require credit card verification upon registration. This helps prevent identity fraud and unwanted bidding behavior. The credit card provided is used for verification purposes only.
Does Schulman also auction banknotes?
Yes. Schulman b.v. regularly organises specialized auctions with a strong emphasis on paper money. These auctions are announced well in advance and attract interested parties from home and abroad.
Are my coins insured during the sale process?
Yes, your coins are fully insured throughout the journey. From the moment of receipt to final sale, we ensure safe and careful treatment.
