Sell with Schulman

Schulman has been known as a high-quality numismatic auction house since 1880. Currently, we organize seven auctions per year (spring, summer and autumn), auctioning historic coins, notes, medals and decorations. We are proud of our excellent catalogues, which are now part of the libraries of museum collections. The high quality of our catalogues is due to the numismatic expertise of our specialists, our archive of 145 years of auction proceeds, the results of previous auctions and current market developments.

Description and valuation

Once we have received the items, we begin with a detailed description, photographing, valuing and setting the starting price. You will then receive a list of your items with the correct catalog number so that you can easily track them during the auction.

Publication of the auction catalogue

When the auction catalogue is ready, it will be published online on our own website, as well as on the websites of all leading third parties for numismatic auctions — all to reach as many interested parties as possible. Now, those interested can start placing their preliminary bids. This happens approximately 6 weeks before the auction. At the same time, the catalog is printed and distributed to our purchasing customers worldwide.

The Auction

Those interested in the auction room bid on objects during a classic auction. Customers who are unable to be physically present can bid in real-time via our online platforms or app.

Payout

Eight weeks after the auction, the auction proceeds are paid out to the consignor.

FAQs

How do I sell my collection?
At Schulman, we offer various solutions to sell your collection. In addition to sales through our auctions, we can also offer direct sales. We then make an offer based on current market prices and pay immediately.
Why do I need to register a credit card when I sign up for online bidding?
Safety and fair auctions are the top priority at Schulman. That's why we require credit card authentication upon registration to participate in live bids. This prevents identity fraud and so-called “ghost bids”. The credit card you register does not have to be used for payment, it can be made by invoice.
Does Schulman also sell banknotes?
Yes, of course. Every year, we organize at least one auction that is entirely dedicated to banknotes.
Why do you ask for a credit card when you register for online bidding?
To ensure the reliability of our auctions, we require credit card verification upon registration. This helps prevent identity fraud and unwanted bidding behavior. The credit card provided is used for verification purposes only.
Does Schulman also auction banknotes?
Yes. Schulman b.v. regularly organises specialized auctions with a strong emphasis on paper money. These auctions are announced well in advance and attract interested parties from home and abroad.
